Umbraco migration v8 → v13, multisite architecture, content migration, project management, user training
Yes. You can. Even if we say so ourselves.
When two large school communities — LMC-VO and Kind en Onderwijs — merged into the new SARO organisation, the digital infrastructure also had to be brought together. 14 different school websites, each on Umbraco 8, each with its own content, its own administrators and a life of its own. And Umbraco 8 was already heading towards the end of its support anyway.
What was the challenge?
Not one migration. Fourteen. With fourteen sets of editors who simply wanted to keep working. Schools that are in the middle of a school year cannot afford a digital standstill. The migration had to be invisible to end users and cause as little noise as possible for the administrators.
What did ZAAKS! do?
We migrated all 14 school websites to one central Umbraco 13 multisite environment. Each school kept its own face, its own content and its own editors — but now runs on a shared, modern infrastructure. Content was migrated, structures were set up, and administrators were guided through the switch.
What does it deliver?
Mergers are already complex enough. The digital side does not have to be as well. We took care of it.
