Many-eyes principle

We have nothing to hide! Because we are open source, the source code is open to anyone who is interested. And that benefits everyone! Together with regular internal and external audits, this means more people look at the code. If there are concerns or suspicions, they can be verified and addressed immediately. Transparency at its best!

Password security

Umbraco has top-of-the-line password management and security. Everything is encrypted properly, there are workflows to invite new users and reset passwords, and you can even fully adapt the rules to an organization's specific needs. Really next-level stuff!

Log out on inactivity

As a default security setting, every user is automatically logged out if they are inactive for 20 minutes. But do not worry, you can adjust this entirely to your liking to meet the rules. So you have everything under control!

Built-in security check

Umbraco has a built-in Security Health Check that you can simply run from the admin panel. This ensures your installation is well protected against common threats and is configured correctly. Nice and easy, so no more worries!

OAuth and custom OAuth

OAuth is a super handy standard for access delegation. It is often used to give websites or apps access to information on other websites, without them needing your passwords. With Umbraco you can implement OAuth, including custom providers such as Azure Active Directory. Really handy!

SSO (Single-Sign-On)

Single sign-on (SSO) is great for security and can hugely increase your productivity. Fortunately Umbraco supports adding SSO with many popular providers. And you know what? On Umbraco Cloud you do not even have to worry about it, because it works right from the start. Pretty cool, right?

2FA authentication

You can protect your Umbraco installations with 2FA (two-factor authentication) using various 2FA providers such as Google, Microsoft, Okta and many more

We put AI into our (Umbraco) applications.

Umbraco itself has little AI, but it is a perfect 'AI-enabler' for making far-reaching integrations with AI possible. We are continuously working to keep up with the rapid developments. We also build standalone chatbots, agents and custom applications. ( as early as 2023!)
