Yes, you can. 14 different school websites, each on Umbraco 8, each with its own content, its own administrators and a life of its own in one multi-site And Umbraco 8 was already approaching the end of its support anyway.
No week of downtime, no lost content, no administrators who suddenly no longer know how it works. Oh, and the result has to be scalable for the future. No easy task.
We carried out the migration in phases: from Umbraco 8 to a brand-new multisite in version 13. Each school kept its own subsite, its own house style and its own content managers — but now shares one technical foundation, one CMS and one security infrastructure. We also took care of the content migration, the user training and the handover to the SARO IT department.
SARO now has a future-proof digital foundation. 14 schools, one system, centrally manageable and secured. New schools can be added just like that. And the step to Umbraco 17 is now a lot smaller than it would ever have been.
