With a smart multi-tree Umbraco installation, an IP check for secure working from home and integrations with the systems that were already there. Poonawalla Science Park Bilthoven is a special environment: multiple organisations on one campus, each with their own needs — but also shared infrastructure and shared services. That calls for a digital solution that is just as multidimensional.
What was the problem?
A science park needs more than a public website. Employees must be able to communicate internally and find information (intranet). External partners must have access to shared documents and services, but not to everything (xtranet). And home workers must be able to log in securely. Those are three different worlds that you have to tie together smoothly.
What did ZAAKS! do?
We built — and have been managing for years — a multi-tree Umbraco installation with two public websites, an xtranet for external partners and an intranet for employees. Access is arranged via an IP check login for home workers and SSO (Single Sign-On) for seamless authentication. The integration with Planon (the park's facility management system) ensures that data ends up in the right places.
What does it deliver?
Everyone — whether you are on campus, working from home or an external partner — has access to exactly the information you need. No more, no less. And that has been working since 2015. That is the durability of well-built software.
