What was the problem?
HandicapNL wanted a platform that connects, inspires and practically helps people with a disability. That means more than a website with articles. You need a messaging system, a marketplace for mobility aids, an events calendar, the option for members to post articles themselves, training options — and all of that safe, accessible and pleasant to use.
What did ZAAKS! do?
We built Wijrollen.nl on Umbraco as a foundation, with an extensive community layer on top: own profile, sending messages, marketplace, events, writing articles and responding. The community has been active for years and the platform is continuously being developed further. This is not a project that is ever "finished" — and that is exactly how it should be with a living community.
What does it deliver?
A platform that enables HandicapNL to truly connect and inform people with a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Members are active, articles are read, the marketplace is used. And the platform grows along with it.
