Why should I migrate/upgrade to Umbraco V17
From September 2026, Umbraco 13 is no longer supported. Earlier versions are already no longer supported and no longer receive security updates either. The sites won't fall over, but they are no longer compliant. If you do want to be compliant, choose to switch to Umbraco 17 as soon as possible. If you have Umbraco version 13, arrange it before September 2026. If you have an older version...arrange it now! ( and of course with ZAAKS!)

Why is Umbraco so easy to connect to AI?
Umbraco offers a headless/ hybrid foundation with clean JSON endpoints and extensible hooks. This allows us to connect AI agents without disrupting editorial work. The platform is also actively developing towards AI; they call themselves an AI enabler. At the moment, a number of packages have already been released for Umbraco 17.
-
What is Low-code and no-code development?
With the rise of AI (artificial intelligence), more and more low-code and no-code applications are coming onto the market. With these tools you can build websites and applications yourself without programming knowledge. At the moment it still proves somewhat stubborn in practice, but developments are moving very fast.
-
Where can I find the Umbraco manual?
There is a standard manual for Umbraco in English, which you can find here.
-
How expensive is an Umbraco website?
The price of a custom umbraco website can vary quite a bit. From 2500 euros you have a complete website based on an HTML template. If you want a bit more and also want your own design applied, you're heading towards 5000 euros. But then you do get a lot.
-
Can ZAAKS! be the product owner for me while another agency builds the website?
We can be deployed on any project to provide guidance during the build.
-
Can I hire ZAAKS! to develop Umbraco packages for me?
We develop large and small, open source and commercial packages. Do you already have an Umbraco site, and would you like a separate package made for it? That's possible! If you have a good idea for a commercial package, we can work on it together.
-
Can I hire ZAAKS! to come up with products for my clients?
We are an independent agency and can be deployed anywhere. We can take care of the entire process, but also all sub-products and services.
-
Can I, as an agency, hire ZAAKS! to give training to my clients?
Yes, that's possible. We can also provide training for products from other agencies. That generally takes a bit more preparation, but it is very feasible.
-
Can AI be connected to our Umbraco site?
Yes. We use the Umbraco Content Delivery API and (where needed) the Management API to let AI functions read/write securely. Think of a smart search function, content assistance or a chatbot with your own content. We build custom solutions or integrate existing marketplace packages.
-
What does an Umbraco training cost?
We provide Umbraco user training for our own clients, but also for third parties. We always first look at how complex the website/application is and then give an estimate of the costs. It also depends on the number of participants. For an average umbraco site, 350.00 for a 1.5-hour training is a good guide price.
-
Does ZAAKS! also help with site maintenance?
Yes, we do that in collaboration with our international partner Usome. Usome is part of ZAAKS. The support desk is Dutch-speaking and sometimes English-speaking.
-
What can ZAAKS! test for me?
Well, literally anything you want. Preferably no mattresses, cars and cleaning products. But anything you want to have tested online. Whether it's Umbraco or not. Websites, applications, apps, shops, forms, etc, etc....
-
Will my Umbraco site keep working when my version is EOL (end-of-life)?
Yes, don't panic. For some time now, Umbraco has had strict version management, with an LTS (Long Term Support) version released every 3 years. Interim versions are often not used for business-critical websites. If your site is EOL, everything simply keeps running. Umbraco websites generally keep running nicely. For example, there are still Umbraco 4 websites running without problems today. There are no more security updates, but those can be solved. It is better to move to the newest version every 3 years, and that is often quite affordable too. Especially at ZAAKS! where we can do that at low rates.
-
Why do you sometimes use Umbraco cloud?
Umbraco cloud is a fantastic product for large and business-critical websites. It has a nice workflow for pushing changes through the development pipeline. This is super handy especially if you are doing a lot of further development. The environments are always updated without you having to think about it yourself. Uptime is high, and the service is very good. For standard/medium websites, however, it is relatively expensive if you want to use all the functionality.
-
Does Umbraco have AI functionality?
Since version 17, Umbraco has extensive AI functionalities that can be added. ZAAKS also makes its own AI packages and custom solutions that work well with Umbraco.
With Umbraco 17 you can build co-pilots or agents, workflows and many handy things that help you manage your content.
-
Is Umbraco user-friendly?
You bet, it is super easy to work with. Learn more about the CMS here
-
Where can I find more info about Umbraco?
If you want to know even more about Umbraco, that's a good sign. Of course at umbraco.com and Umbraco.org

What does DXP mean?
There's yet another new name for something we've been doing for ages. It has to stay a bit exciting!
DXP means: Digital Experience Platform. Because with the CMS you can manage multiple channels and it can do more than just a CMS. (although of course it is largely used as a CMS ;-) )
